Writing long numbers can be much shorter when using scientific notation. This Kahn Academy video on scientific notation explains how to covert numbers in standard form to scientific notation. I've created some practice questions, including some decimals and fractions for an extra challenge. This practice test is in adaptive mode, which means you can see the correct answers after answering each question.
