Added Information

I designed this visual arts weekly assignment for a home school setting, but it can easily be tweaked to work in a classroom or art camp setting. Feel free to utilize any or all of my ideas!

This visual arts assignment aligns well with world history when exploring civilizations that created art on cave walls. A trip to a cavern with earth and environmental science assignments also augments this topic quite nicely. The following resources are free; however, Nearpod limits the storage for their free tier.

Name That Country: Do You Know These Flags? Part 2

Quite a few people are checking out my first flag practice test, so here's a second one made especially for all the vexillologists (people who study flags) out there. These are a little harder than my first list, in my opinion. Of course, flags sometimes change over the years, but I believe these are current on the date I published the practice test.

Directions

  1. Click on the first slide to enlarge to full screen.
  2. Click on the slide or on the next thumbnail at the bottom of the screen to advance to the next slide.

Principles of Art Practice Test

Visual art involves quite a few principles. Masters of the craft often adhere to or manipulate these principles in unusual ways to produce memorable and thought-provoking pieces. Before attempting this visual art practice test, I suggest reviewing the Principles of Art module on Nearpod.com. Keep in mind that most art includes several principles of art mentioned in this practice test. I have included descriptions that give a hint for the focus of each question.

This practice test focuses on the following principles of art:

  • Alignment
  • Balance
  • Contrast
  • Emphasis
  • Movement
  • Pattern
  • Proportion
  • Unity

Directions

  1. Click on the first slide to enlarge to full screen.
  2. Click on each slide or on the next thumbnail at the bottom of the screen to advance to the next slide.
